Customizing Phlox Post Formats

Phlox Post Formats allow you to define a certain style and format for individual posts.

Phlox supports eight different WordPress post formats. To apply a format to your post, add a new post with new format, or easily change the format of your old posts by editing them. By choosing some formats such as gallery, audio, video, and quote a new tab will be added to the post options box, which allows you to customize that specific post format.

To manage Post Format:

1. Click on the Posts on the Dashboard
2. Click on the Add New Post
3. On the right side, between Publish and Categories, you can change the Format

Video Tutorial

Standard

This post format is the default post format. You can either set this post format or not, to add a post containing text, image, audio, quote, etc.

Aside

This post format is suitable for adding quick notes.

Gallery

This post format allows you to add multiple images to a post or page. By choosing gallery, a new tab (Gallery Post Options) will be displayed on the Post Options section. Then you can easily add images to the post.

1. Click on Add Image(s)
2. Select images from: - Upload Files > Select File - Media Library
3. Then click on Add Image button

To add multiple images, hold down the Ctrl key and click on the images.

Image

This post format will add a lightbox to enlarge the images.

Link

This post format is a link to another site.

It will automatically choose the first link in the post content.

Quote

This post format is used for quotations. By choosing Quote, a new tab (Quote Post Options) will be displayed on the Post Options. Then you can easily add quote.

• Quote Post Options: You can add Source Name and Source URL.

Phlox also provides you eight different Blockquote shortcodes which you can insert to your post content. For more information go to Shortcodes in Post Content.

Video

This post format adds a video player at the top of the post. You can upload a video from the media library (Video File Section) or embed video file from Youtube, Vimeo or other similar websites. By choosing Video, a new tab (Video Post Options) will be displayed on the Post Options. Then you can easily add your video to the post.

WordPress supports MP4, OGG, and WEBM file formats.

• Video Post Options

1. Click on the Add Video
2. Select the audio from: - Upload Files > Select Files - Media Library
3. Choose poster image for your video by clicking on the Add Image
4. Choose the player skin

Audio

This post format adds an audio post. This is a good choice for your podcasts. You can upload an audio from your PC (Audio File Section) or embed audio file from Soundcloud or other similar websites. By choosing Audio, a new tab (Audio Post Options) will be displayed on the Post Options. Then you can easily add your audio to the post.

WordPress supports MP3 or OGG file formats.

• Audio Post Options:

1. Click on the Add Audio
2. Select the audio from: - Upload Files > Select Files - Media Library
3. Choose the player skin
